Ibn Battuta

Ibn Battuta (1304-1368/69 CE) was a Moroccan scholar and explorer who traveled over 75,000 miles across the Islamic world and beyond, documenting his journeys in the Rihla, one of the most important travel accounts in world literature.

Muhammad bin Tughluq (r. 1325-1351) ruled the Delhi Sultanate at its greatest extent and presided over its fragmentation. An unusually learned sultan, he attempted a second capital at Daulatabad, a token coinage, and agricultural reform, and the failures cost him his empire's cohesion.
