Fatima al-Fihri (فاطمة الفهرية), also known as Umm al-Banin, was a visionary Muslim woman who founded Al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco in 859 CE, establishing what would become the world's oldest continuously operating university and one of the leading centers of Islamic learning for over a millennium.

Hamdard Laboratories (India) is a Unani pharmaceutical company and welfare institution founded in 1906 in Old Delhi by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed. Beginning as a small clinic in the lanes of historic Delhi, it grew under the leadership of his sons Hakeem Abdul Hameed and Hakim Mohammed Said into one of the subcontinent's most recognised producers of Unani medicines, and was transformed into a waqf (charitable endowment) in 1948. Its products — most notably Rooh Afza, created in 1907 — became household names across South Asia. The institution also established Jamia Hamdard, a deemed university in Delhi.
