Amina of Zazzau (c. 1533-1610) was a Hausa warrior queen who ruled the city-state of Zazzau (modern Zaria, Nigeria) for 34 years, expanding its territory through sustained military campaigns, establishing fortified walls, and integrating the region into trans-Saharan trade networks.

Arwa al-Sulayhi (1048-1138 CE) was one of the most powerful female rulers in Islamic history, governing Yemen for over five decades. Known for her political wisdom and administrative skill, she transformed Yemen into a prosperous state.

Razia Sultana (1205-1240 CE) was the first and only female Sultan of the Delhi Sultanate, ruling from 1236 to 1240 CE. She demonstrated exceptional administrative skill and military leadership, though her reign was cut short by opposition from nobles.

Zubaidah bint Ja'far (765/766-831 CE) was the wife of the Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid and one of the most powerful and celebrated women of the Islamic Golden Age, remembered above all for financing the wells and reservoirs of the Darb Zubaydah pilgrim route between Baghdad and Mecca.
